Why? because for every hundred pound you'd earn £20 goes to the tax man. Not much yes but there's another benefit, another way of looking at it.Įvery thing you buy after earning over £10'000 you're getting it 20% CHEAPER (that's not a VAT thing either). If you went legal, you'd be £400 better off. Say you had a job paying £12'000 legally and only earned £4'000 from dj'ing, illegally. say £16'000 total income, spend £6'000 on your Dj business that's £1200 you don't owe the tax man.

In the UK we have a £10'000 tax free limit and pay 20% Tax. You end up better off declaring your work. Tax on interest on savings or income off another Job, claim it back.
